Ever since i started practicum, i've been neglecting this virtual space of mine. Most of the time when i'm at home, i'll try not to touch my lappy. This is especially true after i've finished my very last observation... When i do not have much lesson plans to rush or reflections to do, i'll 'throw' my lappy aside. I do have alot to blog about actually, but then i felt that its no longer that "fresh" anymore so i'll do it short and sweet.
I was laughing at the AWARE joke which i will not further illustrate since they have gotten enough publicity. Ling was just mentioning to me last night that she wondered if they might be trying to boost their membership hence the "not-so-welcomed-people" have to surface out, loud enough to snatch the headlines from the previously known as swine flu. Kekekekeke...Apparently, it did, probably not on the news or papers but the flooding discussions online and on blogs. Sometimes it really make me wonder about how the society functions. Seriously. Enough said, i wouldnt be doing a coverage on it so.... SHUT UP and SIT DOWN! :P
(Do you hear jeering?! Hahahaha)
If you have been flipping the papers, they have so many pages, whole load dedicated to the H1N1 breakout. Was just discussing about this matter with my brother and we talked about quarantine. He was just saying that his friend self-quarantined himself after he came back from overseas, which i dont remember where it was, but definitely not Mexico. 1-week, that is. Then i was saying that there is no need to go to that extent , unless, my company is able to work out with me on my leave. I wont want to penalise my own annual leave just to self quarantine myself when the place i've been to is not exactly hot on the flu. He said, i'm just like a typical singaporean who is lack of social responsibility. I see it in a different point of view. Anyway, i'm not heading anywhere, so there is no need for me to prove that i have or do not have "social responsibility". Like Dr Khaw has pointed out clearly, locals should still continue to go outdoors. I'm still going for my swimming and enjoy the whole pool to myself since there will be people who will not want to share pool at this period of time. Dang !
Yesterday, there was a repeat telecast of the Star Awards. Actually people who knew me, will know that i am not a crouch potato. I dont stick myself to the television and indulge in potato chips. Needless to say, local dramas have already lost me eons ago. However, i do enjoy watching the Star Awards, who's In, who's Out and of course their forever amusing thank you speech. Quite a disappointment that this year everyone is playing the safe card. I guess it has got to do with the buzzer thing that everyone will have to prepare their speech and to end swiftly and not to talk nonsense. I thought, it became less appealing to watch. Everyone just thank family, fans and bosses. I thought their thank you speeches in the past were much, better, nearer to who they really were in their "real-life". Out of those dramas that had gotten nominated, i've only watched one, The Little Nyonya. Year after tyear i always thought would appear to be stupid to watch the awards without knowing how the rest acted but! this year is so special that every single award is flooded with The Little Nyonya's nominees, so i can relate to. They should name it a qing gong party awards. ( Eh ok, less of the sarcasism, i really feel that they ought to get what they deserved.) Kudos to Joanne Peh and Jeanette Aw. I thought they were good! Oh and did i mention? Joanne looked so pretty ! Hur and Zheng Ge Ping was funny. " wo men zhe zhong category". But i thought tho he was encouraging but could also hurt the others cos he mentioned if you're not Ou xiang pai or without background, can forget about getting into top 10. So, indirectly = those won are ou xiang pai or they throw in money? (*It made me ponder about how Henry Thia can squeeze in all the way to top 10 when Daiyangtian, He tian ci were not even in top 20 list.) Surprise surprise.
Over the weekends, hmmmmmmm i attended my mother's colleague's son's wedding @ Regent. Food was good! Heh heh and there were 5 of us, the other 5 who shared table with us we were all familiar with, so the dinner was quite alright. And we were seated just next to the bridal table. Didnt know we would be placed so upfront. And the other table were all their business associates. Then my brother and I were talking about placement. Business associates and partners come after family members. The rest, behind. Quite cool, to be part of the "business associates" table. Initially i didnt want to go as i've never enjoyed going for wedding dinners. My mother insisted that all of us should be present becos they were close partners for which they have seen us since young. It would be very rude if we were not there.
My entry is so random that i didnt know how to continue or to end. So.... hmmm i'll leave it here. I have alot of random photos hanging ard. I'll find chance to upload them all at one go, when i am not so lazy.
